These skill trees include attack, defend, and move type skills that are specific to a distinctive form of physical combat. Each specialty contains a set of skills that pairs with a certain combat role and is purchased during character generation. The degree of training required to gain access to the skill tree is represented in the Build Point Cost. Each individual skill has an associated attribute that is used as the base score, adding the overall skill tree points and any modifiers to determine its overall score.

After a specialty skill tree has been acquired during character generation, players are able to purchase a number of novice skills to enhance their overall capabilities based on the number of build points they have remaining. More advanced Expert and Master level skills can be purchased after a specific number of skill tree points have been gained after level advancement, and may require some specific prerequisite skills.  All skills that are available to be purchased are included in the specialty.
