Description

A heavily armored combatant with an oversized gun and significant melee combat training who willingly wades into any fray, no matter the odds. More than a little cocky and unfazed by any threat, cannoneers are a breed all their own, competitive, stalwart, and a little unbalanced, they deal and absorb damage, drawing the attention of their opponents away from their allies. This is the role for those who want more than to be the center of attention, at the end of the day, they want to hear everyone talking about their deeds, their accomplishments, and their badassery.

Build Notes

The combination of Martial and Ranged combat specialties limits both the number of starting skills and access to other specialties, but does offer the the ability to wield multiple types of weapons while wearing heavy combat armors. While they are able to engage in melee or ranged combat, the smaller selection of skills encourages players to build the character up to their vision as they advance rather than making these decision during the character building process.

Starting Gear

The Cannoneers begin play with a suit of heavy armor, ranged weapon, melee weapon, and a travelers pack, the quality of which is based on the starting wealth class. These packs do not have a specific monetary value, rather they are designed to ensure that starting characters have the basic gear they need to begin play. Substitutes for items of a roughly equal value may be made with GM approval.
