Everyone comes from somewhere and that background shapes characters in ways that we don’t always consider. The point of these optional background packages is to provide a preset series of stereotypical options to inspire players. They include a general description, the most common Wealth Class and Social Status for people who come from that background, Advantages and/or Disadvantages that fit with the background, and some suggested Background Skills and Proficiencies. While these can be implemented as is, all of them are built using five (5) Story Points. Because not all lineages begin with the same number of points, some adjustments will be required, typically by lowering either the Wealth Class or Social Status, or picking up one or more Disadvantages to make up the point differential.

There are 40 background packages from which to choose. These may be used as is, modified to fit the players vision, used as inspiration, or ignored. The point value of the Wealth Class, Social Status, and any Advantages or Disadvantages are provided for easy modification, and all skills are merely suggestions that fit the background.
